Broadcasting class brings students to WANE 15

This semester, six journalism students have stepped into the live newsroom of WANE 15 (WANE-TV) to watch and learn how to create amidst the pressure of deadlines.The collaboration between WANE 15 and the Pulliam Journalism Center has been offered on demand the past few years, and is designed to help students gain real-world experience, Jenna Huff, news director for WANE 15, said.

Original play “Will We Ever Be Well?” comes alive

Taylor’s Theatre Department displayed a story of conflict, emotion, mystery and the debate over death. “Will We Ever Be Well?” was a play written by Ris Bland, a senior majoring in musical theater, in collaboration with Tracy Manning, the assistant professor of theatre arts, managing and artistic director of theatre.

Taylor Art Department welcomes new leadership and professors

The Taylor University Art department has seen an influx of new and experienced faces who are teaching this fall semester. It has a number of new professors teaching classes, including Landin Brown, Matthew Herrmann, Mark Masuoka and Michael Medlock. Additionally, longtime Taylor employee Beth Kaylor began a new position as the Art department program assistant this summer.

Horne installs LED wall with 3D effects

A brand-new dimension was added to the view inside of the Horne Academic Center at Taylor University when it installed one more wall in the building. Down the hall in the building is a gigantic sound stage. The dark room built to house film productions will now hold an opportunity for students to capture the virtual world on film.

Film and Media Arts senior awards show wraps up the year

As filming wraps up for the seniors' narrative projects, so does their college experience. The 2024 school year has been coming to a close, and seniors in the Taylor University film and media arts major put the finishing touches on their narrative film projects and cobbled together a reel highlighting their various projects over the years.

Four senior recitals showcase hours of hard work

As the last music note resounded, a lifetime of memories flashed through their heads. Five seniors gave the final bow to an audience of supporters, and a sigh of relief escaped their lips as the year 2024 marked the end of a sweet song.

Künstlerroman showcases graduating seniors portfolio

14 senior art majors brought their time at Taylor to a close with a senior exhibition titled “Künstlerroman.” The art showcased was a culmination of the artistic brilliance and enthusiasm that the students had developed over their years at Taylor.

Monkey Man delivers political message in action-packed story

"Monkey Man" blends fast-paced action with social commentary, reflecting India's societal divides. Director Dev Patel intertwines folklore with political critique, offering a unique perspective on Indian cinema. The film underscores the necessity of radical action in combating injustice, signaling Patel's promising future as a director.

Voices of Resilience showcases autobiographical artwork

In the softly lit recital hall of the Smith-Hermanson Music Center, a student’s voice echoed as she read the words, “You don’t tell me what I get to eat; my body is mine.”Voices of Resilience welcomed students from across campus to share their mental health experiences through different mediums of art, sophomore Abby Portolese, PAX member, said.
