“Not a lot of students notice it.”
Taylor women’s soccer ended their conference run on Nov. 9, falling to No. 2 Marian in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals. Although the Trojans did not finish on their own terms, they received a bid into the 2022 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship during a selection show held on Nov. 14.
Currently a professor of graphic design and chair of the Department of Art and Design at Samford University, Scott Fisk is a graphic designer, artist and educator whose work has been shown and recognized for its excellence around the world. Fisk was deployed as an army reserve photo-journalist and combat photographer tasked with documenting military history during the Iraq War; following his deployment, Fisk was awarded a Bronze Star for his heroic service. Samples of Fisk’s artwork are currently on display in the Metcalf Gallery, as a part of the Matter and Spirit exhibit exploring the overlap of faith and culture.
In head coach Aaron Mingo’s second season, Taylor’s football team took a step forward on the process toward the team’s goal of being the best Christian college football program in the country.
Marion Health Network’s Gas City medical campus, which is under construction just off of I-69 near Payne’s restaurant, is still undergoing development.
Taylor’s volleyball team was the Crossroads League regular season champ, and by beating Marian University in the championship match, they are now Crossroads League Tournament champions. This is the first time since 2010 that the Trojans are Crossroads League Tournament Champions.

The award was given in the Educational Institutions, University and College Grounds 0-200 acres category, for exceptional grounds maintenance. In addition to the primary academic, athletic, and residential areas of campus recognized by PGMS, Taylor also has an additional 600 acres of woods, trails, cross country course area, and farmland.

Trojan sports have been dominating across the board this season. Women's soccer entered the conference semifinals. Volleyball took the Crossroads League and is hunting for a national title. Men’s and women’s golf finished in the top 12 in the nation. Cross country now joins the corps of Trojan victors this season.
On Friday, Nov. 4 the Samuel Morris statues located in front of Modelle Metcalf Visual Arts Center and the Rupp Communications Arts building were ceremoniously re-dedicated after undergoing alterations earlier this semester.
