TU searches for new basketball coach

Coach Josh Andrews parts ways after 10 years

In a press release by Taylor University’s athletic department on Mar. 5, Taylor University announced that they would be parting ways with men’s basketball head coach Josh Andrews.

In Taylor’s press release, athletic director Kyle Gould described Andrews’ tenure as one full of ‘integrity and dedication.’

“His tenure was marked with many highlights and accomplishments, and he was fully committed to the development and discipleship of the young men he recruited into the program,” Gould said.

Andrews was at the helm of the Trojans beginning in the 2013-14 season after taking over from Taylor legend Paul Patterson. Over his time at Taylor, he finished with a career record of 148-184, multiple top-25 finishes and a 9-1 record on Silent Night.

This year, the Trojans finished 11-18 and were eliminated in the Crossroads League tournament by the No. 1 Grace Lancers. Junior forward, Anton Webb finished as an All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention averaging 12.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

One of the main highlights of his career was his 57.5 win percentage at home, finishing his Taylor career with a 92-68 record inside of Odle Arena.

In Andrews’ final statement in Taylor’s press release, he said, “My family and I are grateful to have been a part of the Taylor community the past eleven years …Taylor is an amazing place and it has been a thrill and honor to help develop young men, while seeking to represent Christ from the prestigious helm of the men's basketball program.

Taylor is now engrossed in a search for their fourth head coach in school history.
