As the new semester begins at Taylor University, the Taylor Student Organization (TSO) teams and the Office of the Student Body President are thrilled to welcome students back to campus! With the start of the semester comes a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm, and TSO teams have been hard at work planning and preparing for a variety of events
One of the most anticipated events of the semester is Nostalgia Night. On Saturday, Feb. 25, the Student Activities Council (SAC) had the opportunity to host this event which brought the campus together to celebrate talented students as they sang songs that were popular before the year the seniors were born.
Global Engagement’s Women of the World week was also a success. This week-long series of events focused on engaging in women’s issues globally while looking at how they impact our local communities. Part of this week was a fundraiser towards Hands of Hope, a local organization that supports women who have faced forms of domestic and sexual abuse.
In addition to these events, Inter-Class Council (ICC), Student Senate and Student Body President’s Office elections are in process for the 2023-2024 school year, Intramural basketball is in full swing, Airband rehearsals are underway for auditions coming up in March and Mainstage is working hard to prepare for Colony House to perform at Taylor on April 15.
The Office of the Student Body President, consisting of the Student Body President (Kenley Blake), the Student Body Vice President (Josue Villalobos) and the Student Body Secretary (Molly Jacobs), has been hard at work in collaboration with the Taylor Administration to discuss upcoming board meetings, address student issues and dream up ways for their Fearless Campaign to continue to come into fruition during the remainder of their term. The trio has been diligently working to ensure that their goals are met and that the student body is represented in the best way possible.
We are excited for all that is to come this semester and look forward to engaging with the student body through all of the upcoming events.
