The Taylor men's basketball program will don a patch on their unifroms this season honoring the late Paul Patterson – who passed way on Sept. 20.
Patterson, who is enshrined in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, racked up 734 career wins in his career at the school.
The patch, which reads "Coach P," rests on the right shoulder of the teams' uniform. The alterations to the jersey were introduced last Friday during the home opener against the University of Rio Grande, and the patch will be displayed throughout this season. The court in Odle Arena is also named after Patterson.
“It’s an honor to play on a court named after him and all he stood for,” Andrews said in an article with The Echo last month . “So many of those principles made the men he coached successful beyond basketball, and we try to champion many of those same principles today.”
The men's basketball team will play a home game against IU Kokomo tonight at 7:30 p.m.
