The Taylor women's soccer team fell short in a thrilling game this past Saturday, which involved no shortage of goals from both sides.
The Trojans hosted No. 7 Spring Arbor, who currently remain undefeated in Crossroads League play. Despite a final score of 6-4 in favor of the Cougars, sophomore Nikki Zaino was very happy with the team's performance.
"We came out fast and ready to play," Zaino said. "It was a crazy and fun game to be a part of. I was very proud of my team for not giving up and for scoring as many goals as we did on a very good team."A Cougar goal in the 80th minute put Spring Arbor up 5-4 and proved to be the deciding blow as the Trojans would not see the back of net for the remainder of the game. Zaino led the Trojans with two goals accompanied by single goals from senior Courtney Selle and sophomore Hadlee Yescott.
The Trojans were in action on the road this past Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Next, they'll host No. 10 Grace College at home this Saturday. Soccer kicks off at 7 p.m.
