Taylor seniors celebrate 100 days until graduation

By Lauren Harvey | Echo

Seniors will celebrate "100 Days 'Till the Tassel Turns" tonight, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. in an event sponsored by class officers in partnership with the Alumni Office.

"[This event is for] seniors to come together and to reminisce about their senior year," said senior class president Jason Koh. "We realize that we are actually 100 days away from graduation and so [this event] means a lot."

Celebration happens in many forms during the evening. The event commences with a slide show highlighting memories from the Class of 2014's four years at Taylor.

"My favorite part of the event is the slideshow because I love seeing all of the awesome pictures of the seniors throughout our time at college," Koh said.

Following the slideshow, seniors can mingle with one another and take pictures at a photo booth. The program and dinner start with prayer at 6:30 p.m.

Interim Director of Lighthouse Katie Rousopolous and Olson Hall Director Lisa Barber are this year's featured speakers. Together they will challenge the senior class to make the most of their last 100 days as Taylor students. The focus on how to spend these last days at Taylor is a very important part of this event according to Koh.

"The purpose of this event is to really try and express our gratitude to Taylor for this experience and to really try to make the most of our last 100 days," Koh said. "We really want to make these last days the best days."

Koh said the most important part of the "100 Days" event is the time of celebration and fellowship it provides.

"I would love for this event to help seniors remember that Taylor is a place they can always come to reminisce and that Taylor is their second home," Koh said. "I would love for them to leave the event looking forward to starting their lives, knowing they have had a good education, good solid friendships, and to know they can impact the world."
