Taylor second half slump gives IWU sweep

Caitlin Vukorpa | Echo
After not making a field goal 10:06 into the second half, the Taylor women's basketball team fell Wednesday night to No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan. The loss gave IWU a sweep of the Taylor men's and women's teams this week.
The Wildcats sealed the game in the first 10 minutes of the second half, forcing eight Trojan turnovers and no baskets in 12 attempts. The first basket of the half came from senior Ashley Fouch with 9:54 left. From there the Trojans outscored the Wildcats 20-16, but it was too late as Indiana Wesleyan took the 56-42 win.
The Trojans finished the game with a 26.3 shooting percentage from the field and a 9.5 shooting percentage from deep. Overall, Taylor committed 19 turnovers while IWU committed 18 of their own.
Leading the Trojans was senior Becca Daniels with 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block.
Taylor (7-12, 2-5 CL) looks to move forward as they travel to South Bend to take on Goshen College (4-15, 1-6 CL) Saturday at 1:00 pm.
