The Taylor men's basketball team moved back above .500 and improved to 3-1 at home as they beat Ohio State-Newark 101-82 on Saturday.
The team was lead by sophomore Kyle Stidom as he recorded a career-high 31 points. Stidom was feeling it from all over the floor shooting 10-12 from the field and free throw line, respectively, and knocked down his only three point attempt of the game.
Taylor fought back from an early 10-point deficit and was able to take control of an eleven point lead into halftime. The Trojans kept the lead the rest of the game as they dominated OSU-Newark on the glass, 46-26, and outscored the Titan bench 31-4.
Senior Josh Riikonen recorded his third double double as he scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Junior Darayl Jordan played well a well-rounded game adding six points, three blocks, and nine boards. Senior Ben Raichel found his shot in the second half, finishing with 12 points, while juniors Tyler Waite and Jesse Coffey scored nine apiece.
The Trojans crossed into triple figures on a three-point basket in the final minute from freshman Eric Cellier.
Taylor will finish their home stand Tuesday night as they open up Crossroads League play against No. 16 Grace in a 7:00 pm tip.
