The Taylor volleyball team had their eight-game win streak snapped on Friday night when they hosted rival Indiana Wesleyan. The Wildcats defeated the Trojans 3-1 in front of a packed house in Odle Arena.
Taylor fell in the first set, 25-18, but put together a huge rally midway through the second set and capitalized with a 25-18 win of their own. It was IWU who would come away with sets three and four (25-22, 25-23), but not before staving off rallies by TU in both sets.
Senior Ashlyn DeHoogh led Taylor with 15 kills while junior Kelsey Carr and sophomore Olivia Griffith led the defense with 21 and 13 digs, respectively.
In Saturday's matchup, the Trojans were swept by Marian, 25-16, 26-24 and 25-15. The loss marked the first back-to-back conference losses for the Trojans since 2006.
Taylor will be back on the court Wednesday, October 9, as they play host to Grace at 7 p.m.
