One hour and ten minutes. That's how long it took the Taylor volleyball team to get past conference foe Spring Arbor on homecoming Saturday.
The Trojans picked up the 3-0 sweep of the Cougars, 25-11, 25-21 and 25-18. The second set even saw the Trojans give up 10 consecutive points after having a 24-11 lead before finally finishing Spring Arbor in the set.
Such a quick match meant smaller numbers for most of the Trojans statistically. Junior libero Kelsey Carr led the team with nine digs on defense. The Taylor defense held Spring Arbor to an attacking percentage of just -.074 for the contest.
Offensively, sophomore setter Olivia Griffith led TU with 20 assists while fellow sophomore setter Julia Willey added 14 assitsts. Senior Ashlyn DeHoogh put down 12 kills while junior Jackie Close added 11 to fuel the Taylor offense.
TU volleyball goes on the road for five of their remaining six matches before tournament play begins in early November.
