The men's soccer club normally stakes it's identity in being a second half team. They proved that theory on Saturday as they buried Huntington 3-1 after a scoreless 40 minutes to start the game and outscoring the Foresters 2-0 in the second stanza.
The Trojans' first goal came in the 40th minute as sophomore Caleb Bouchier scored off a low cross from junior Tim Daniels on the right wing.
Huntington answered just before the half with a ridiculous shot from outside the box near the left sideline. The shot seemed nearly impossible and stunned the crowd as it dropped just under the crossbar to knot the game at 1-1.
Early in the second half, junior Tim Miller tapped one past the Huntington goalkeeper off an assist from junior Devin Moore. The third goal to seal the victory for the Trojans came from junior Danny Cawley in the 72nd minute off a corner kick. Cawley found Daniels off the corner and Daniels fed it back to Cawley for a left-footed attempt that found the net.
The win was just Taylor's second conference win of the season (2-5) as they now move to 3-10-2 on the year overall. The Trojans will face rival Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at IWU.
