The Taylor volleyball team got off to a rough start this season as they lost four straight in their annual opening tournament in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Trojans had a tall mountain to climb in their first three contests, facing off with three ranked opponents in No. 12 Bellevue, No. 24 Grand View and No. 13 Midland. The Trojans lost to Bellevue 1-3, Grandview 0-3 and Midland 0-3.
The fourth contest of the tournament was with St. Francis (IL.) and the Trojans again found themselves in a 1-3 defeat.
There's no question that the loaded list of opponents for the Trojans' (0-4) opening weekend was an incredible test. Taylor will get a chance to redeem their record this coming weekend as they host the Taylor Tournament and a quartet of matches including Indiana Tech, Olivet, Davenport and Point Park.
