The men's and women's tennis programs competed in their first events of the season over the weekend as they squared off with a handful of teams from the Crossroads League.
The tournament was organized in three flights (A, B and C). The men's double team of junior Carlos Guarin and freshman Austin Lindner were able to win their first match 8-6 against a pair of players from Marian University before falling in the second round.On the women's side, the Flight A pair of senior Kim Henke and freshman Katherine Marquez grabbed wins in round one against Saint Francis (8-4) and round two against Marian (8-5). In the final round, the Henke-Marquez duo fell to a different pair of Marian players (8-1).
Both the men's and women's teams will be in action this Tuesday at Marian at 1 p.m.
