The Taylor men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2013 campaign on Saturday as they fell to Marygrove 2-1.
Sophomore Josh Beachler gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute as he headed in a corner from junior Tim Daniels. Taylor didn't let down, putting seven of their 11 shots on frame but none were lucky enough to find the back of the net for the rest of the contest.
Marygrove answered right back after the Beachler goal as Marygrove senior Jad El-Zein found the net on a bicycle kick in the 17th minute. El-Zein scored again in the second half as the Trojans fell behind 2-1 and couldn't recover.Junior keeper Michael Williams grabbed five saves for the Trojans and junior forward Danny Cawley had a few good attempts that didn't quite go through.
The men's soccer team is back in action next Friday and Saturday with a pair of games at Wheaton College.
