The track teams showed strong performances as both finished within the top two on Saturday at the Taylor Classic.
The women's team finished second with 221 points behind St. Joseph's who compiled 252 points in their first place finish.
Only three women's track teams competed at the Taylor Classic, but Taylor was successful in many events.
They came away with first place finishes in eight different events; five of them were individual contests.
In the relay events Taylor edged out a victory in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 49.34 and had a decisive win in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:10.59.
Freshman Kaitlin DeHaan had a big day winning three events: 400 meter dash, 4x400 meter relay and the pole vault.
The men's team grabbed the top spot out of five teams, finishing with 282 points. The Trojans claimed first place in eight different events.
Senior Corbin Slater qualified for nationals with his first-place throw of 59.29m in the javelin. This was good enough for him to be placed second on the Taylor all-time javelin throw list.
Taylor is back in action next Friday as they compete at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships.
