The women's basketball team dominated the Huntington Foresters 67-41 this afternoon. The lady Trojans redeemed themselves after losing a close contest to Huntington earlier in the season.
Taylor is now 9-7 in the Crossroads League and 20-8 overall.
Junior Becca Daniels scored a career-high dropping 19 points on the Foresters defense. Her post played shined as Huntington could not find an answer for her, especially late in the first half.
The Trojans rode her strong offensive play to a 26-23 halftime lead.
The second half was all Taylor as they outscored their opponent 41-18, thanks to a 24-6 run to start the half.
The defense of the Lady Trojans continues to shine as they held their opponent to 41 points for the second straight game.
Taylor's offensive performance was impressive as well. They shot a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line and 26-for-47 (55.3 percent) from the field.
Seniors Erin Guarneri and Erika Redweik added some offensive power for the Trojans as they scored 12 and 14 points respectively.
Taylor will have one of its tougher battles of the season this Wednesday as they take on their rivals Indiana Wesleyan on the road. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
