Men's basketball won its seventh straight game by defeating the Marian Knights 55-45 at home.
Seniors Casey Coons and Nate Kasper both had huge game for the Trojans. Coons became the fourth player in Taylor history to score 2000 points in his or her career. He accomplished this achievement with a left-handed layup early in the second half. He finished with 12 points in the game.
Kasper proved to be too much for the Knights as he led all scorers with 30 points, his most of the season.
Taylor has now moved to 19-7 overall and 11-3 in the league. They are now tied for first place in the Crossroads League.
Defense was the key in the Trojans victory as they held the Knights to only 45 points. The knights shot very poorly only making 16 of 51 shots, which was only good for 31.4 percent. Taylor connected on 22 of 46 of their shots, with a field goal percentage of 47.8, despite only making 2 of 11 from behind the arc.
Taylor looks to continue their hot streak as they take on Spring Arbor at home this Tuesday at 7 p.m.
