The Taylor men's basketball team lost a tight one in conference play on Saturday at Huntington. The 63-59 defeat after giving up a 13-2 run late in the second half.
The Trojans jumped out to a 24-11 lead in the first half before surrendering the first of two major runs by the Foresters. Huntington scored 14 unanswered to take a slight halftime edge.
The two teams were neck and neck in the second half until senior Casey Coons knocked down a three to give the Trojans a 49-45 advantage with 7:17 to play. After Coons' three, it was all Huntington as the Foresters went on a 13-2 run to take a 58-51 lead.
Coons buried two triples late in the contest but it wasn't enough to put the Trojans back on top.
Coons led Taylor with a game-high 25 points while Nate Kasper added 15 and five rebounds. The Trojans fell to 19-8 (11-5) with the loss. They will be at home for senior night next Tuesday evening against No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan at 7:00 pm.
