The women's basketball team lost their third straight game of the season falling to Grace 73-62. A rough first half for the Trojans resulted in a 15 point halftime deficit. The Lancers went 7 for 10 on three-pointers in the opening half in which the Trojans shot just 37.5 percent from the floor.
The Trojans came roaring back in the second half and due to the frontcourt duo of senior Erin Guarneri and junior Shayna Wood who combined for 16 second half points. Junior Kelci Freds also added nine in the second half as she knocked down two three-pointers.
The Trojans tied the game twice with under 10 minutes to play but a 9-0 run to end the game by the Lancers would solidify the victory 72-63.
The Trojans shot 34.8 percent (23-66) from the floor and 33.3 percent (7-21) from the 3-point line in the contest. Guarneri led the Trojans with 14 points and nine rebounds. Wood was second in each category with 13 points and six rebounds.
Having lost three in a row, the Trojans are 13-5 on the season and just 2-4 in conference play. They will host No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday.
