Award winning artist and illustrator will visit Taylor's campus tonight for the opening of Paperwork, an exhibit featuring his work. He will present a talk during the opening reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Metcalf Gallery, and his exhibit will remain open until Feb. 8.
Brezinka has forged a unique style of art involving prints and collages of mixed mediums, according to his website. His talent for illustration and design have earned him a wide range of accolades, and his most notable clients include The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune and the family of the late Johnny Cash. His illustrations have appeared in The Museum of American Illustration. He has also done extensive work on ads, posters, music cover art and consumer packaging. "My passion is to make great work that speaks to people," Brezinka wrote on his blog. "I love to admire (illustration) and those who do it well." The Los Angeles Times praised Brezinka's work as sophisticated and conceptually strong. "I think we'll be seeing a lot more," wrote Wes Bausmith, the publication's Deputy Design Director. Brezinka's work can be viewed on his website, blog and facebook page. Posters, prints and notecards displaying his work can also be purchased on brezinkadesign.com.
Paperwork is open to the public Jan. 4 through Feb. 8. Admission is free. For more information, call 765-998-5322.
