Men’s basketball wins fourth straight

A host of double digit scorers led to a fourth straight win for Taylor on Tuesday night. The Trojans bested the Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene 66-49.

The Trojans' had four scorers in double figures as Casey Coons led all scores with 17. Nate Kasper and Tyler Waite added 16 apiece while Ben Raichel chipped in 15 as well. Raichel led the Trojans from long range shooting 4-for-7 while Coons went 4-for-10.

The four Trojan scorers accounted for 64 of the Trojans' 66 total points as Josh Riikonen added the final two.

Freshman guard Jordan Richardson also contributed a team-high five rebounds in the absence of an injured Tommy Peller. Another impressive shooting display from the 3-point line proved why the Trojans are fourth in the nation in three-point shooting as they shot 10-21 from deep on Tuesday.

Taylor controlled the lead the entire game but only led 41-33 before scoring 14 unanswered with just under ten minutes left. The 22-point lead was more than enough as the Trojans cruised to another conference victory.

The Trojans will host Bethel this Saturday at 3:00 pm.
