The men's basketball team lost a close one last Wednesday 54-58 to rival No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan after losing a tight one to No. 10 Grace College just days before. Playing their third game in five days on Saturday afternoon, the Trojans took control against conference foe Huntington and never let up, leading to a 70-44 victory.
The Trojans jumped out to an 18-3 lead in the opening minutes and would never see the Foresters threaten a comeback. Taylor shot 7 of 13 from long range and 17 of 31 from the field in the first half to take a commanding 44-27 lead into the locker room.
Junior Ben Raichel scored 14 first half points while senior Nate Kasper scored 10.
The Trojans' lead never relinquished as an 8-0 run late in the second put them ahead of Huntington 65-35 before benching the starters and ending with a 70-44 final.
Raichel and senior Casey Coons led Taylor with 16 points while Kasper and senior Tommy Peller added 10 apiece. Junior Josh Riikonen played an all-around game with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
