The Taylor women's basketball team jumped to No. 13 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll this week after back-to-back comfortable wins over Thanksgiving break. The Crossroads League now has five of its ten teams ranked in the top 25 with Huntington moving up to the No. 22 spot.
The Trojans took down conference foe Goshen 82-66 on Tuesday, Nov. 20 before dominating Indiana Tech 89-74 in their first home game of the season on Nov. 24.
Senior Erin Guarneri led all scores with 24 against Goshen as she went 10-for-14 shooting with six assists. The Trojans forced 26 turnovers for Goshen in the contest as they coasted to a comfortable win.
In the Trojans home opener against Indiana Tech, Guarneri led Taylor again with 19 points while junior Kelci Freds added 15 including 3-for-5 on three-pointers. Freds also tallied five assists as the Trojans started the season 6-0 (1-0) launching them to No. 13 in the NAIA.
The Trojans will face off against No. 15 Bethel this Saturday, Dec. 1, in Odle Arena.
